We have completed the design and detail of many new build steel framed industrial units across the UK. These generally consist of long span steel portal frames but have also included braced box type designs. Our design works have been undertaken as both 2D and 3D projects and ordinarily include the design and detail of the steelwork connections too. Alterations to these structures have included the design installation of large overhead crane gantries supported off the existing steel frame columns, extensions to existing structures and specifying strengthening works to existing structures to increase their load carrying capacity. Between the summer of 2021 and the spring of 2022, we designed a total of 5 new steel portal frames as part of the development of the Belmont Industrial Site in Durham. In total, this equated to a total floor space of nearly 100,000 square feet!
