Jack began his career at a small civil and structural engineering practise in Macclesfield working on a range of residential, commercial and industrial projects. Here he developed skills in both structural design and producing high quality technical CAD drawings. In 2013 he moved to York joining Alan Wood & Partners where he further developed his engineering knowledge working within a multi-disciplinary consultancy across residential, commercial, industrial, educational, leisure, energy and rail projects. Nearly 4 years later in 2017 he joined the Structures Team at TSP Projects (formerly the consulting arm of TATA Steel Projects, now part of SYSTRA) where he worked on and led a number of technically challenging, high-profile, UK Rail and Energy projects ranging in construction value from £10mil – £350mil. During his time at TSP Projects, he achieved his Chartership through the Institute of Structural Engineers in 2018 and became Deputy Team Leader of the Structures Team.
In 2019 he decided to pursue a lifelong dream in setting up his own consultancy practise. JME Consultants were established and began trading in July 2019. His aim was to provide an unparalleled personalised, friendly and affordable consultancy service with a razor-sharp focus on technical excellence to the general public, contractors and consultants alike.
The wide range of consultancies which Jack worked for over the course of his career has resulted in him accruing a vast knowledge of structures, their materials and their behaviour. Being a perfectionist at heart, this knowledge is always evident in the quality of output on the projects he undertakes himself or checks for other members of the team. In his spare time, Jack can often be found either walking his dogs, reading, heading abroad for a snowboarding holiday, socialising with friends, or enjoying spending time in the company of his wife.
